Introduction

The EU WSR EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) system is a component of the IMSOC system (an encapsulating system containing the previously known “Traces NT” system) developed by the European Commission.

After a prototype phase launched in November 2020, the EU WSR remains a proof of concept that intends to demonstrate the feasibility to use a system operated by the EC as a piece of the EDI between involved WSR parties. But, conversely to the prototype, this version will be operated in a real production environment.

The initial scope of the system is to involve the exchange of unstructured set of information, mainly documents in binary files like PDF, DOC, JPG etc. but not files describing each structured and formatted field representing the information in the WSR documents (like XML files). If the proof of concept is successful, the step to the fully structured information will be implemented.

Important

This document provides instructions for Companies working accordingly to the WSR and willing to use the EU WSR EDI system for exchanging documents.

For the time being, the system is only available via the GUI (Graphical User Interface) by using a browser.

In a later phase, companies will be able to connect their systems via web services to exchange information with other parties via the EU WSR EDI system.

To request access to WSR, please follow the instructions here.
