Introduction
The EU WSR EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) system is a component of the IMSOC system (an encapsulating system containing the previously known “Traces NT” system) developed by the European Commission.
After a prototype phase launched in November 2020, the system remains a proof of concept that intends to demonstrate the feasibility to use a system operated by the EC as a piece of the EDI between involved WSR parties. But, conversely to the prototype, this version will be operated in a real production environment.
The initial scope of the system is to involve the exchange of unstructured set of information, mainly documents in binary files like PDF, DOC, JPG etc. but not files describing each structured and formatted field representing the information in the WSR documents (like XML files). If the proof of concept is successful, the step to the fully structured information will be implemented.
Important
This document provides instructions for Competent Authorities’ users connecting to the system via the GUI (Graphical User Interface) by using a browser.
Instructions for operators are available in a separate document.
The machine-to-machine interface between national/regional systems to the EU WSR system will be also developed in another document.
