    After a study visit to Fyn FLAG in Denmark, a fishers’ association member was inspired to adapt one of the Danish projects to his area’s needs. The project aims to boost tourism and improve local knowledge of fisheries heritage.

    Small-scale coastal fishers and fish farmers have been actively involved in the design of a coastal management plan for the Emilia-Romagna coastline. This stock management plan focused on three local high value species identified by the sector at regional level.

    Die bulgarische Stadt Nessebar hat im Jahr 2020 erstmals das Festival „Herbstpassagen“ veranstaltet. Das breit gefächerte Programm für Einheimische und Touristen diente in erster Linie zur Werbung für Fischerzeugnisse vom Schwarzen Meer, für die Fischerei als Beruf und für den Schutz des maritimen Erbes.

    With support from the FLAG, local fishers are helping enforce protection measures and halt poaching in the region’s oldest fisheries marine reserve, Cabo de Palos. Its improved protection has favoured an increase of endemic species.

    The East Finland FLAG has supported the creation of a mobile app for Finnish inland fishers to register their catches. Developed by a University of Applied Sciences and introduced in May 2020, the tool will enhance catch-data collection and traceability along the fisheries value chain.

    Der Limfjord in Dänemark ist trotz erheblicher Umweltbelastungen reich an Meerforellen, einer für Angler sehr attraktiven Fischart. Mehrere FLAG und LAG in der Region haben ein Kooperationsprojekt zur Etablierung eines neuen Tourismusziels für die Freizeitfischerei in Angriff genommen, das sowohl ökonomischen als auch ökologischen Zielen gerecht wird.

    The development of small-scale fisheries and aquaculture businesses in the Western Lithuania FLAG area is a vital part of the economic development of regions such as Klaipeda and Priekulė. This project, implemented by a small local company, aims to improve the processing of local fisheries and aquaculture products through a series of FLAG-funded strategic investments.

    Ein breit angelegtes Kooperationsprojekt von FLAG in mehreren Ostsee-Anrainerstaaten hat dazu beigetragen, neue Erkenntnisse über die Auswirkungen des wachsenden Robben- und Kormoranbestands auf die Küsten- und kleine Hochseefischerei in der Region zu gewinnen. Gleichzeitig haben die beteiligten FLAG Konzepte für eine ausgewogene Bewirtschaftung der Meeresressourcen ausgearbeitet.
