    The FLAG’s area covers over 150km of the Tyrrhenian coastline, including the provinces of Cosenza and Catanzaro. The coastline is characteristically sandy and rocky and is scattered with many small mountain villages. The main tourism location in the area is the city of Diamante.

    The Blue Coast FLAG area’s main features are the wide hill zone, interrupted by a big river valley, and several densely populated coastal towns. The sandy shore has a Mediterranean climate and scrub.

    The establishment of the Coast to Coast FLAG is the first implementation of fisheries CLLD in the Basilicata region. The FLAG area includes 19 municipalities within the provinces of Matera and Potenza and covers approximately 61 km of the regional coastlines of the Tyrrhenian and the Ionian Seas, mostly included in protected areas or areas of community interest.

    The FLAG covers an area of 162 km 2, and includes 20 municipalities in the provinces of Naples and Salerno (from Castellammare di Stabia to Vietri sul Mare). The fisheries sector here is facing severe challenges in terms of diminishing fish resources and falling competitiveness.

    The FLAG territory covers an area of 261 Km2, and has a coastline of about 36 km, from the mouth of the Canale Formale del Molino (just north of the Trigno River) at the border with Abruzzo, to the mouth of the Torrente Saccione, at the border with Puglia.

    The FLAG is situated in the Southern part of the Marche region, bordering with the Abruzzo region at the mouth of the Tronto river. It is a discontinuous area of five municipalities (from north to south- Porto San Giorgio, Pedaso, Cupra Marittima, Grottammare and San Benedetto del Tronto).

    The FLAG area is included in three provinces and seven municipalities. Fishing activities on the Sicilian islands are mainly small-scale and coastal. Their challenges include poorly developed infrastructure in landing areas, a lack of real fish markets and a low number of processing facilities.
