How to complete your financial statement

Introduction

The Financial Statement is automatically generated using the data provided in the Researcher Declarations from Continuous Reporting and/or from the Technical Part. This is the reason that most fields are read-only (please see the below).

A financial statement can only be "locked for review" or "signed and submitted", if the Financial Statement has been saved beforehand. Only then the latest data will be locked for review or signed. So each time the researcher declarations have been updated, the financial statement has to be saved.

(warning)  New since 10.01.2019 (SyGMa 11.0): The export to excel functionality for the Financial Statement Summary is now also available.

The financial statement contains three fields

  1. Financial information from contact

"No contribution requested" is information coming from the signed grant, so this field is read-only.

  2. Financial statements

The financial statement (each period has one financial statement) for the current periodic report is displayed here. This is also a read-only field.

  3. Financial statement for the selected period

The detailed costs of the selected financial statement are visible here and all fields are read-only, except the sentence at the bottom of the screen about operating grants.

The details about the recruitments can be displayed, by clicking the

Cost categories

Source

The source document describing the costs is the Model Grant Agreement for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships on the Funding & Tenders Portal.

  • The different cost categories are described in article 6 of the Model Grant Agreement.
  • The criteria for eligible costs are described in article 6.1 of the Model Grant Agreement.
  • The template for the financial statement for beneficiaries for a reporting period can be found in the Annex 4 of the Model Grant Agreement

Principles

All costs in the financial statement are read-only. Beneficiaries can only edit data concerning the EU/Euratom operating grants. Beneficiaries should indicate:

  • whether they received an EU/Euratom operating grant during this reporting period, and
  • complete how many of the person-months were incurred during the period covered by the operating grant.

Updates

  • New since 07.09.2017 (Sygma 8.1):

    • the PDF of the Financial Statement has been updated to reflect the changes introduced with Model Grant Agreement v. 4.0.
