Description

A connected amendments are amendments which must be done at FPA-level and which will then be automatically copied into all SGAs.

Amendment types that trigger connected amendments

Only the following amendment types trigger connected amendments:

Amendment type

Specific changes of connected SGAs

AT3

Addition of a new beneficiary

As soon as an amendment containing AT3 changes is signed by both parties at FPA-level, the system automatically issues, for each ongoing SGA, a connected amendment adding the new beneficiary as "inactive", with no budget assigned to it.

AT4

Change of beneficiary due to partial takeover

As soon as an amendment containing AT4 changes is signed by both parties at FPA-level, the system automatically issues, for each ongoing SGA, a connected amendment applying terminating the former beneficiary with the same termination date as in the FPA and adding the new beneficiary, with the same status (active or inactive) if it was already part of the consortium, or with the status of the former one, if it is a newly added beneficiary.

AT 6a

Addition of a linked third party

As soon as an amendment containing AT6a/AT6b changes is signed by both parties at FPA-level, the system automatically issues, for each ongoing SGA, a connected amendment adding the linked third party as "inactive", with no budget assigned to it.

AT6b

Addition of an international partner

As soon as an amendment containing AT6b changes is signed by both parties at FPA-level, the system automatically issues, for each ongoing SGA, a connected amendment adding the international partner as "inactive", with no budget assigned to it.

AT8

Change of coordinator

As soon as an amendment containing AT8 changes is signed by both parties at FPA-level, the system automatically issues, for each ongoing SGA, a connected amendment changing the coordinator (active status).

The connected amendments as such require no signature of either party.

However, normally additional amendments at SGA-level are needed in order to make the change operational:

  • activation of the new beneficiary/third party (AT7b)
  • update of their budget in a SGA (AT31)
  • setting the bank account of the new coordinator (AT 40)

Possible issues...

To avoid blocking situations, all ongoing SGA amendments should be signed by both parties before launching FPA amendments with AT3, AT4, AT6 or AT8 changes (or ongoing SGA amendments maybe cancelled and re-launched).
