    The Entrecabos area covers two municipalities, located in the centre of the Asturian region and between (“entre”) two capes (“cabos”) that serve as prominent landmarks in the territory. The area is steeped in maritime and cultural heritage as well as natural resources. Unfortunately, these characteristics are not widely known.

    The FLAG area covers the six coastal municipalities of the region of Murcia in southern Spain. It stretches over 312km of coastline and includes the biggest saltwater lagoon in the Mediterranean, the Mar Menor. The local economy is based strongly on tourism in the north of the area, especially around the Mar Menor.

    This FLAG area covers the municipality of Thisted (the area around the town of Thy), situated on the north-west coast of Jutland, and the municipality of Morsø (the island of Mors) located in the Limfjord. Thy and Mors are characterised by a few large manufacturing companies with expertise in health technology and robotics, and more traditional production companies in the metal, wood, and food industries.

    Fishing communities of County Down in Northern Ireland have been struggling in recent times but the initiative ‘Maritime Heritage Tourism Infrastructure and Communication Project’ was able to give the region a major boost, particularly in the three port towns of Ardglass, Kilkeel and Portavogie.

    The 2003-2013 period in Sweden saw a number of exchange visits with FLAGs from other Member States, including exchanges that led to projects to introduce new approaches to other countries. In 2014-2020, FLAG cooperation is not mandatory in Sweden, but FLAGs had to indicate in their strategies how much funding they planned to allocate to it.

    The Land of 1000 Ponds is in the Northeast of Bavaria, close to the border with Western Bohemia in the Czech Republic. It is one of the oldest agro-cultural landscapes in Europe and is formed by more than 4 700 fish ponds, some of which have been verified as being more than 800 years old.
