How to create a follow-up
Open the notification, and you will see the list of all fup numbers and references and the country who created it in the Follow-up panel, under the General information panel on the left.
Note
Each fup has a notification ID, which is automatically given (for example #567890), and a fup number which is automatically given after the EC Validation of the follow-up notification (”fup”) (for example fup5). Both numbers appear in the Follow-up panel and are used to identify the fup.
In case additional information or documents must be added after the notification was submitted or validated, the user can create a follow-up by clicking on Follow-up button:
A dialog box appears asking to select the network for the follow-up if you are part of more than one network.
The notification then will appear in edit mode and the draft follow-up will be displayed in the follow- up panel:
Add the modifications/attachments to the original notification (you can modify every section of the notification except the original notification’s reference number, notifying country and additional information section. Add a new operator in the traceability section, add the sampling details in the sampling section. You can also add more documents or delete the documents already uploaded).
Go to the follow-up section, which is displayed at the bottom of the original notification.
Select the follow-up type and add a summary of the modifications made or any additional or context information in the additional information box:
Save the follow-up if you want to review the information added (note that the check button is always available to verify if mandatory fields are filled in).
Tip
If you need to save the follow-up as draft before submitting it, just click on the Close button and then select Close and save in the dialogue box. The follow-up will stay as draft in iRASFF dashboard and can be modified at the later stage, by opening it and clicking on Edit.
Click on Check to make sure that all the necessary information was introduced.
If there are errors, the program shows error messages on top and next to the field that needs to be corrected.
If everything is correct, you can validate the follow-up.
A pop-up window will appear to confirm your choice.
For a RASFF-follow-up, click the Escalate button and confirm in the dialog box if the fup requires it.
Once validated by the ECCP, the text in the Additional information panel and the changes in the body of the notification are visible to all Member States.
The fup number and the flag of the country creating the fup are systematically placed next to the modified fields in the notification.
To visualise all information and changes created by the fup in the body of the notification, click on Ctrl + f and paste the six digits fup number. Use the arrow to "browse” through all the changes.
