The FLAG area is found on the southern-most peninsula of mainland Greece. Within the area we find fish farms, small-scale fishing enterprises and businesses involved in pesca-tourism activities.

A two-year pilot project working with fishermen to improve their overall health and well-being and connect them with local health and well-being services.

Fishermen and the local municipality worked together to improve selling conditions for fresh fish in Olt county with a local fish market for 170 fishermen.

--ARCHIVED as of 31 January 2020-- The FLAG area has been selected because of its wide geographical range and its potential to benefit as many small fishing communities as possible. The local fishery has an extremely diverse range of fish and shellfish species.

The FLAG area covers the region of the northern part of the Amvrakikos gulf and the Ionian Sea in the Preveza prefecture. The area is well known for its environmental richness and hosts both a RAMSAR wetlands protection area and multiple Natura 2000 sites. Numerous avifauna, mammals, fish and vertebrate species are found here.

The FLAG is located in the western part of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodeship, an area rich in rivers and lakes (including the Noteć river and the Bydgoszcz Canal). The fisheries activity is carried out by a few large aquaculture producers (mainly carp) and by the Polish Anglers’ Association who owns 5750 ha of waters.

The FLAG area is a mostly rural area located in the north-eastern part of Kujawsko-Pomorskie region, along the valley of the Drwęca river. There is a long tradition of lake fishing.

The FLAG is located in the Masurian Lakes region in north-eastern Poland. This area has a very high number of lakes – over 300, with a total surface of over 27 000 hectares, including the largest Polish lake, Śniardwy.

The FLAG is located in Western Pomerania close to the cities of Szczecin and Stargard as well as to the German border. Agriculture dominates the area, but there is also fish farming and lake fishing.

The FLAG area of Pieria, which is found along the western shore of the Gulf of Thermaikos, is a rural area where fishing is an important economic activity. It is well known for shellfish farming and in 2014 it produced over 8 400 tons of mussels representing over 85% of overall Greek production for the year. In addition to aquaculture, sea fishing remains important here.
