Users can now export parts of the survey tree. The export dialog (from the survey menu) allows the user to select any number of BHs,SPDs, or specific items that will be included in the resulting ZIP file. When the survey is imported only the selected items are shown in the tree. Note that no observations are exported in this mode. Exporting the full survey tree however also saves the dataset with the observations. (Closes Bug #224) 2. When loading a partial survey (that does not have all items) the window title of the application says so (title ends with "partial"). 3. Merging of surveys is implemented. The merge dialog can be found in the survey menu. The user can merge any number and type of surveys (partial or full) and even surveys with observations on the same items. The result will always be a survey with the union of observations from all surveys involved in the merge operation. (Closes Bug #176). 4. Removed abbreviations from the observations table (Closes Bug #342) 5. Tooltips were added in the header for the observations table. (Closes Bug #360) 6. The DET can now retrieve automatically all required information for a new survey (item List, Key family) via a web service. The procedure can be activated via the Network-> List Surveys Menu and it is completely transparent to the user This is an altervative way of creating a new survey instead of the Survey -> Initialize menu. (Closes Bug #173) 7. The user can now submit the finished dataset to the ILMT/Validation server via a web service. The respective option can be found in the Network -> Send dataset menu option. This is an alternative way of exporting observations (instead of the DataSet - > export observations menu). 8. Added a new dialog with the configuration URLs for the web services. It can be found under the Network -> Configuration menu. The system administrator of each DET installation is expected to fill the information. Bugs fixed: 1. The "year" combo box in the Survey Select Dialog no longer shows duplicates for surveys with multiple datasets. 2. XML list files exported from the ILMT assigned to a group are loaded correctly. Empty lists (with no items at all) will be rejected however. 3. Removed the error message dialog that appeared multiple times when the reference quantity of an item was not an integer number. (Closes Bug #391) PPP Data Entry Tool v1.2 b01 (22/11/2007) ---------------------------------------- New features: 1. The surveys are now stored in the User directory instead of the application directory. This will allow users to upgrade the application with a new version, while keeping their surveys intact. The respective folder is named "DET_Data" and users are not supposed to tamper with it using a file manager. 2. Importing and exporting of Surveys was implemented. Both functions are available from the survey menu. A survey can be exported into a self-contained ZIP file which can be imported back to another user's application. Attempting to import an already initialized survey will prompt the user for a different dataset name, allowing a user to have multiple datasets for the exact same survey (name and year). Datasets are selected when opening a survey. A "default" dataset is the first one of every survey managed. Survey Zip files can be opened with any zip utility (7zip,Winzip,Winrar e.t.c) like any other ZIP file. Importing a survey will load it automatically into the application as the current survey. 3. Quantity is no longer assumed to be an integer value. Floating point values are accepted too. (Closes Bug #312) 4. New single file installer (in a jar file) allows for easy installation of the DET using an installation wizard. An un-installation jar is automatically generated in the target installation folder (although the whole folder can be deleted using a file manager as well in order to uninstall the application). Bugs fixed: 1. Loading a survey works even when the internal survey tree contains hidden files (starting with dot such as those created by OSX and MSWin). 2. Problematics Action should now expand all tree item that are either questionable or extremely questionable (Closes Bug #338) 3. Specify fields with no value are not shown in the attributes table. PPP Data Entry Tool v1.1 b01 (19/10/2007) ---------------------------------------- New features: 1. Removed the brackets from the reference quantity in the attributes table of the item currently shown as requested. (Closes Bug #289) 2. Added a "Finalize" button next to other buttons above the observations table as requested (Closes Bug #287). 3. Renamed "Obs. Quantity" to "Obs. Quantity for Ref. Unit" in the observations table as requested. (Closes Bug #290). 4. "Brand Type" filter moved after "Label" as requested. (Closes Bug #291). 5. Finalization makes an item uneditable. The user must click the button "edit again" in order to change back the item. As soon as a new change is made the item loses its finalization status and must be finalized again. (Closes Bug #288). Bugs fixed: 1. Headers from Observation Filters did not update correctly 2. Single Brand type filter works as expected. This was actually a bug in ILMT. (Closes Bug #292). PPP Data Entry Tool v1.0 b01 (04/10/2007) ---------------------------------------- New features: 1. Added item label in the "items tab" for BH and SPD nodes as requested on 19/9/07 (Closes bug #215) 2. New menu structure with clear separation between dataset (open/save/finalize) and survey (initialize/import/export). (Closes bug #241). 3. Survey Tree is now imported from an XML file instead of a CSV allowing for greater flexibility (specify, survey code e.t.c). (Closes bug #256) 4. Transparent management of surveys. The application stores all surveys in an internal file tree on the filesystem which is never seen by the user. The tree of surveys is created dynamically when a new survey is initialized. Opening a survey presents to the user a survey selector rather than a file opener. Saving is an instant action from the menu (does not ask for dataset) and opening a dataset happens automatically when the associated survey is loaded. (Closes bug #206) 5. Archiving of surveys. The application now has the ability to store more than one surveys. The open menu shows a selector with all surveys loaded in the application (regardless of their actual status). Users can reload old surveys to inspect them and then come back to the current one. Switching between different surveys happens on the fly always loading the associated datasets as well. (Closes bug #220) 6. Removed "Year" text field from the New survey dialog since the year is now automatically extracted from the XML with the Item List of the survey 7. Removed "Year" text field from the Survey details Dialog since this is no longer set by the user but gets its value automatically from the XML with the Item List of the survey 8. When the user closes the window and there are unsaved changes (that are not yet stored in the SDMX file), the application presents the standard "Do you want to save changes" dialog with YES/NO/CANCEL Options. 9. Finalization of individual items or of the entire dataset via the menu. Finalized items get a green tick as an icon. Currently an item is finalized if it is complete (VAT, Representativity, valid observations). Any further change to the item revokes the finalization status (Closes bug #205) 10. Preparation of the dataset was added. The Dataset-> Export Observations menu allows the user to export the SDMX file from the internal filesystem tree into any location via a standard SaveAs Dialog. The resulting XML file can be sent by any means (mail, eDamis e.t.c) to anyone. While the operation warns the user if the dataset fails finalization, it still allows him/her to export anyway. (This behavior can of course change to enforce finalization) 11. The unit column is now non-editable and is automatically filled when the user presses the "apply" button with the reference unit of the item. The value itself is no longer saved in the SDMX file. Additionally the characteristics table on top of the window appends the reference unit to the reference quantity (e.g 1 (piece) , 1 (car)) to clearly show the combination of reference unit and quantity (Closes bug #239). 12. Comments at the item level are now saved in the SDMX dataset as expected. They are saved and loaded along with the items that contain them (Closes Bug #181). 13. Shop type is now a drop down menu (Closes Bug #231) 14. Default month added in Survey Details Dialog and New Survey Dialog. The value (if defined) is automatically filled in any observation the user presses the "apply" button. The cell is still editable so the user can override the default. (Closes Bug #217). 15. Added additional "Brand Type" filter with values SB, WKB, BL, BNR or if the stratum is available WKB-H, WKB-H, WKB-L for well known brands. The filter is fully dynamic as expected. (Closes Bug #235). 16. The items tables (both at the SPD and BH level) have a new column next to average price that shows the price in Euro (Euro AVG). The Exchange rate is defined by the user either in the New Survey Dialog or later from the Survey Details Dialog. The input expected is Euro to local currency. (Closes Bug #238) 17. New menu "Close Dataset" which resets the application to its initial state. 18. "Property" Characteristics are now shown in bold in the item attributes table. 19. The menu View -> Problematic items no longer displays the respective report. Instead it processes the Tree. It expands all BH->SPD->Items paths with problematic items and collapses the rest. The result is a tree that shows only SPDS with problematic items. The Problematic items report is retained and can be accessed normally in the root of the tree. (Closes Bug #236). Bugs Fixed: 1. Observation filters for quartiles, function on existing data as expected. 2. Copy-Paste was fixed so that user can paste only on valid areas. Column, rows and rectangles can be copied/pasted even between the application itself. (This was already functional in the previous version of the DET). 3. Loading a Dataset that contains items with more than 10 observations no longer crashes the application. (Closes Bug #211) 4. An item is invalid if any of its specify characteristics is empty and not just the first. (Closes Bug #259). PPP Data Entry Tool v0.4 b01 (31/8/2007) ---------------------------------------- New features: 1. Dynamic Filters table at every level of the Tree (Root,BH,SPD) with sorting enabled. Filter types a. String matching (e.g. code, label) b. Quartiles on values (e.g. price, quantity) c. Quartiles on frequencies (brand/model) 2. Search function for items. Interactive Keyword search for code or label of the item 3. Item summary table for every level of the tree (BH,SPD) Coloured for questionable and extremely questionable items 4. Icons and colours in the tree -No observations (circle icon) -Incomplete item (exclamation mark) -Finalized item (tick mark) -Questionable item (orange colour) -Extremaly Questionable (red colour) 5. Icon Legend dialog in the view menu 6. Contact dialog added in the Settings menu 7. Crucial values dialog moved in the view menu 8. Tree display menu moved to view. Also controls the search results appearance 9. SDMX saving and loading of datasets 10. Separate dialog for survey details in the settings menu 11. Autoreloading of the current survey when the application starts 12. Added shop id in the observations table. 13. Ability to define default VAT for all items (in the survey details dialog) and override it for specific items 14. Representativity changed from checkbox to option buttons to allow for yes,no, undefined values. (Undefined is with both option buttons unchecked). 15. Copy- paste from/to Microsoft Excel in observations table (needs some more work) 16. Comments in the item level directly below the observations table (Not saved yet) 17. Buttons moved above the observation table. 18. Added additional checking value in the item statistics table. 19. Menus for finalizing an item/survey (not functionable yet) 20. About dialog with version information added. 21. Item Statistics table moved to the top right corner of the screen Bugs fixed: 1. Missing changes in the observations table 2. Crucial values are no longer editable. 3. Removed zero values from crucial values dialog 4. Additional checking calculation was corrected. 5. Removed Euro-AVG from problematic items table. 6. Most tables were changed to label arrays for better display and management. 7. Double clicking a cell (observations table) selects the whole text as expected. 8. Focus at the observations table has been fixed.
