The Grammar School Nicosia, 18th annual Road Safety Week
The Grammar School Nicosia has been organizing Road Safety week during the first week of November for 18 consecutive years. The program includes seminars, speeches, demonstrations, presentations, workshops for all classes, suited to each class level. A special ceremony is organized every 2-3 years with the presence of special guests. It should be mentioned that our school is one of the first schools to be awarded with the Road Safety Flag ‘’Phaethon’’ by the Reaction Cyprus Youth for the Prevention. During Road Safety Week, posters are placed on the school boards while banners with slogans are placed at all entrances of the school. All students are supplied with leaflets with information prepared by the Cyprus police about giving instructions on how to protect vulnerable users on the street. In addition, leaflets are given the last day of the week to all bus drivers and parents entering the school premises.
