The French Competition Authority imposes fines amounting to 672.3 M€ regarding concerted practices in the parcel delivery service industry

On 15 December 2015, the Autorité de la concurrence (“The Autorité”) issued a decision fining the main firms (with a market share in excess of 71%) and several regional or local players active in the delivery service and express delivery service sectors, as well as a professional trade organisation, a total of 672.3 M€, for having implemented two anticompetitive concerted practices.

Cartel Chat and leniency campaign

The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) attaches great importance to the fight against cartels. In order to help the detection of cartels, the GVH set up a newly developed online anonymous contact system, the “Cartel Chat” and launched a new leniency campaign.

The CNMC has issued 171 million euros in fines to 21 automobile manufacturing and distributing companies in Spain

On 28/07/2015, The CNMC has issued a total of 171 million euros in fines to 21 companies present in the distribution and marketing of motor vehicles market and/or the provision of after-sales services throughout Spain, as well as two consulting companies, for practices contrary to the Competition Protection Act. The CNMC considers the practices to constitute a cartel (S/0482/13).
