Whether you’re an ocean literacy professional, marine educator, teacher, scientist or simply ocean enthusiast who wants to share their work with our community, you’re invited to take part in our annual conference.

"EMSEA is a network of ocean literate people acting as one voice across Europe and beyond to ensure the ocean is sustained for future generations".

This year the EMSEA conference is going virtual!  After a year of pause, we are ready to meet you all online. Let's use this opportunity to showcase all the hard work that the ocean literacy and marine science education community has done and what we all achieved regardless the problems that affected everyone during the last 2 years.
EMSEA 2021 calls for abstract submissions from ocean literacy practitioners to share their insights and best practice on marine science education and research.
Proposals for oral (15 minutes) and poster presentations are welcome under the following themes:
    1. Ocean Literacy research:
This session welcomes abstracts about OL research. It includes abstracts related, but not exclusive, to knowledge, behavior, attitudes of different societal stakeholders and groups, awareness, evaluation of the impact of OL actions, behavioral change, etc.
2.Ocean Literacy in education (primary, secondary, higher) and informal education:
This session welcomes abstracts related to different OL practices and initiatives at different levels of education, from primary school to higher education.
This session welcomes abstracts related to OL that don't fit any of the two above-mentioned themes.
    DEADLINE call abstracts: 25th August
Acceptance notifications will be sent out by September 9th.
EMSEA Virtual Conference will be held online using Zoom and Whova on 7-8th October 2021.
