Ocean Observation -sharing responsibility - have your say

Ocean observation is essential for the knowledge base of the Green Deal. Data are collected by different authorities for different purposes.

This initiative aims to achieve a common EU approach for measuring once and using the data for many purposes.

It proposes:

• joint planning of observation activities
• a framework for collaboration on a national and EU scale.

An inception impact assessment has been published that describes the problems to be solved and potential options for tackling them. Feedback from 40 stakeholders has been published

The Commisson has now opened a public consultation which is open till 19 February 2021
