Over 100 participants from 33 countries, including about a dozen Ministers/State Secretaries, as well as Commissioners Johannes Hahn and Karmenu Vella met in Brussels for the first Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Ministerial Conference on Blue Economy.

The main aim of this call is to support coordinated action in the context of the IMP, which will carry inter-sectoral and cross-border elements. The call seeks to promote mutual understanding, awareness-raising and joint responses to well-identified challenges hindering integration between maritime sectors in areas such as marine research, coastal and maritime tourism, maritime transport, marine environment, business and skills development, and clustering of maritime activities. Given these varied targets, the call will award one grant to each of the following actions:

This call has two aims: 1. To invite experts that are acquainted with – or have responsibilities for – MSFD-related data management and reporting obligations, to register as a Horizon 2020 expert so that they may be selected to contribute to the marine pilot under the conditions laid down for Horizon 2020 experts; and 2. To invite organizations that have a role in the MSFD data flows and reporting to express their interest to participate in the pilot, to use the required data and to make the necessary transformation(s) to be in line with INSPIRE.
