EMODnet

The European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) is a network of organisations supported by the EU’s integrated maritime policy. These organisations work together to observe the sea, process the data according to international standards and make that information freely available as interoperable data layers and data products.

The EMODnet Steering Committee role is to: (1) Guide the development of the EMODnet Entry Portal; (2) Exchange information on the progress of the various EMODnet projects and initiatives, in particular with regards to the development of the thematic and Entry Portals; (3) Streamline the interactions between the thematic assembly groups, the Sea Basin Checkpoints and the Secretariat and to discuss matters of relevance to improve the coherence of the various EMODnet projects; and (4) Discuss and provide high level decisions related to operational matters to be implemented by the Entry Portal and thematic portals.
