The Integrated Maritime Policy (IMP) of the European Union (EU) is a holistic approach to all sea-related EU policies. It is based on the idea that the Union can draw higher returns from its maritime space with less impact on the environment by coordinating its wide range of interlinked activities related to oceans, seas and coasts. Hence, the IMP aims at strengthening the blue economy, encompassing all sea-based economic activities.

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) were commissioned by the Department of Communications, Energy and National Resources (DCENR) to undertake a detailed appraisal of the INFOMAR project. The appraisal is to be carried out in line with the requirements of the ‘Guidelines for the Appraisal and Management of Capital Expenditure Proposals in the Public Sector (February 2005)’.

Seventh meeting of Marine Observation and Data Expert Group

This was the seventh meeting of the Marine Observation and Data Expert Group. Progress meeting for ur-EMODNET preparatory actions

The aim of the ur-EMODNET progress meeting on 24 November was to monitor progress and to ensure that the different thematic assembly groups of the network had a common understanding of what was required. To help the Commission evaluate the projects, a number of members of the Marine Observation and Expert Group, MODEG, were present.
