
The EU4Ocean Platform is one of the three key components of the EU4Ocean coalition. It serves as a focal point for organizations and initiatives to connect, collaborate and mobilize efforts on ocean literacy. The EU4Ocean Platform will offer a dynamic topic-oriented working environment that stimulates collaboration, exchange of practices and dialogue across the many different target groups leading to the creation of new ocean literacy partnerships and innovative actions, co-designed by organizations and youth.

On 20 May 2022, during the European Maritime Day, the hybrid Ocean Literacy EU4Ocean Summit showcased and awarded the most successful initiatives, collaborations and actions of the EU4Ocean Coalition members. Organisations, individuals, young people, schools and teachers came together to celebrate their efforts and commitment to the ocean and invite others to join them in their work to enhance ocean literacy throughout Europe.

The meeting allowed an exchange with founding members, to discuss how their organisations can contribute to, benefit from, and shape the EU4Ocean Platform and the operational launch in September 2020.
24 September 2020
The first EU4Ocean workshop– Designing Ocean Literacy action in Europe was organised by the EU4Ocean Coalition – a new initiative on ocean literacy of the European Commission.
25 September 2020
The EU4Ocean thematic workshops on Climate and Ocean, Food from the Ocean or Healthy and Clean Ocean, discussed and gathered ideas for effective Ocean Literacy actions.
02 December 2021
On 2 December 2021, EU4Ocean Platform members gathered online to take stock of the Platform achievements in 2021, exchange ideas of new connections and collaborations and look forward to the EU4Ocean Summit planned in the spring 2022.
