Sea Change was an EU H2020 funded project that aimed to advance the concept of Ocean Literacy in Europe. The goal of the project was to establish a fundamental “Sea Change” in the way European citizens view their relationship with the sea, by empowering them, as Ocean Literate citizens, to take direct and sustainable action towards a healthy ocean, healthy communities and ultimately a healthy planet.
The Marine Biological Association (UK) coordinated the project, which was a conducted from March 2015 to February 2018. The project consortium included 17 partners from nine countries.
AquaTT (Ireland) led the Dissemination and Communication work package for the project. Education resources include ocean literacy brochures, fact sheets and information on the connections between ocean and human health. In particular, the Make a Sea Change campaign used infographics and videos to highlight the small changes that we can all make in our daily lives to help protect the ocean.
