European Maritime Day 2019 took place on 16 & 17 May 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal.
European Maritime Day - Burgas 2018
European Maritime Day 2018 took place on 31 May and 1 June 2018 in Burgas, Bulgaria.

At the heart of European Maritime Day was a 2-day conference "The Future of our Seas" in Poole, UK, on 18 and 19 May.
The EMD 2016 conference, held in Turku, Finland (20-22 May 2016) attracted 1200 participants from the European maritime community.
They focussed their discussions on "Investing in competitive blue growth - smart and sustainable solutions", identifying and highlighting the practical steps needed to drive blue growth investments, as well as innovation and change in the blue economy.
The EMD 2015 conference, held in Piraeus, Greece on May 28 & 29, 2015 attracted a record number of participants (1300) from the European maritime community.
On May 30 & 31, the city of Piraeus hosted a series of public happenings at various locations of the city, celebrating its rich maritime history and culture. See more: www.emdpiraeus.gr
European Maritime Day Conference 2014 was held on 19 & 20 May in Bremen, Germany and saw industry experts and policy makers from across Europe come together to discuss how innovation and research in the maritime economy can drive a European growth and jobs recovery whilst securing a sustainable future for Europe's seas.
The 6th edition of the European Maritime Day Conference was held successfully in Valletta, Malta, on May 21 & 22, 2013. It has attracted the attention of the European and the Mediterranean Maritime community with 847 participants who attended the 27 sessions of the Conference.
European Maritime Day 2012 was celebrated in Gothenburg, Sweden. Representatives of the maritime sector from all over Europe participated in the European Maritime Day Conference on 21th and 22nd May.
European Maritime Day 2011 was celebrated in Gdansk, Poland. Over 900 representatives of the maritime sector from all over Europe participated in the European Maritime Day Conference on 19th and 20th May.
The third edition of the Maritime Day Conference was held in Gijón, Spain 18-21 May 2010. It was co-organised by the European Commission, the Spanish Presidency of the European Union and the Government of the Principality of Asturias.
The European Maritime Day stakeholder conference brought together more than 1 200 decision makers and practitioners from throughout Europe and neighbouring regions in Rome, Italy on 18, 19 and 20 May.
In 2008, the European Maritime Day was celebrated for the first time. The event included a stakeholder conference in Brussels 19-20 May, which focused on the regional approach to the implementation of Maritime Policy, and dialogue with stakeholders. The European Maritime Day was officially launched on 20 May 2008 in Strasbourg where the President of the European Parliament Hans-Gert Pöttering, Council President Janez Janša, and Commission President José Manuel Barroso signed a Joint Tripartite Declaration establishing a ‘European Maritime Day’.
