First collaborative lab of the "Building a West-Med Strategy" project with focus on Sustainable coastal and maritime tourism including cruise and nautical transport (North-South Corridor).

The aim of the "Lab" is to assess the feasibility of a maritime strategy for the Western Mediterranean and a possible action plan.

Among several areas of cooperation amongst northern and southern regions, we want to assess the potential visions and ideas to promote "Authentic and Attractive Destinations across the West Mediterranean".

We believe a global demand exists for ‘authentic experiences’ in the basin, but innovative services and offers can be triggered through better regional synergies and dedicated EU support..

For this purpose, we aim at having a first round of exchanges with a limited number of practitioners and policymakers in Rome.

The idea is to gather about 20 participants across the West Med to discuss and exchange ideas on the characteristics and needs of tourism value-chains across the West Med (i.e. local small operators, small ports and public authorities, policymakers, researchers and innovators).
