
This study on the Blue Growth potential in the North Sea and the English Channel is one of four sea-basin studies commissioned by DG MARE with the aim to examine in closer detail the individual development patterns of the maritime industries within the European Union. Within the framework of this present study we have evaluated the state of play and growth potential of four countries: Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Norway. Furthermore, when examining the development of particular sectors, data on the North Sea-related activities in Sweden, Denmark, the UK and France were also taken into account.
Contractors have issued papers summarising the blue economy in Belgium, Germany, Netherlands and Norway. France and UK are covered separately under the Atlantic. Other sea basins are here
