The Maritime Forum aims to improve communication amongst EU maritime policy stakeholders. It allows parties interested in the EU maritime policy to communicate on a common platform. They can publish events, documents and follow developments in their areas of interest. Information can be shared amongst a closed community or published openly. Anybody can register to the forum and comment on its content.

Map of the Week - Habitat classification by EUNIS 2019

The Map of the Week shows predictive EUNIS seabed habitat map for the European seas. The EUNIS habitat classification is a comprehensive pan-European system to facilitate the harmonised description and collection of data across Europe through the use of criteria for habitat identification.

OPEN CONSULTATION Protecting biodiversity: nature restoration targets under EU biodiversity strategy

This consultation covers three separate EU biodiversity policy initiatives: 1. The evaluation of the EU Biodiversity Strategy to 2020 (2011-2020), 2. With regard to target 5 of the 2020 Strategy, the review of the application of the EU Regulation on Invasive Alien Species, 3. The development of legally binding EU nature restoration targets: a key commitment of the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030.

Release of an upgraded version of the highly popular EMODnet Bathymetry Digital Terrain Model

EMODnet Bathymetry is pleased to announce the release of the latest version of the EMODnet Bathymetry Digital Terrain Model (DTM). With over 33.000 individual tiles downloaded in 2020, this bathymetric product is already widely used in a whole range of applications, from marine science to sustainable ocean governance and blue economy activities.
