PROJECT DESCRIPTION
BACKGROUND
iEPB will upgrade the energy performance of the EU’s building stock by increasing the synchrony between multiple EPB assessments, notably between existing Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and other complementary instruments, such as the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) and energy renovation recommendations. Such integration will be made by developing a common data model for EPB Assessments, which could be further expanded and scaled in the future to enable the integration of additional assessments. The developed data model strives to be common and applicable across the EU to increase coherence and harmonisation among Member States. To this end, it will be coordinated with different official and validated EPB Assessment softwares in various countries. The added value of such an approach for building professionals, product manufacturers and end-users will be demonstrated in operational ecosystems. In parallel, the quality of EPB Assessments themselves will be improved and will facilitate the implementation of the upcoming EPBD recast provisions, in particular by promoting procedures relying on actual building data and thus tackling existing deficiencies of EPCs design and implementation. iEPB is also geared toward supporting the market up-take of EPB Assessments’ instruments, notably EPC and SRI by fostering the implementation synergies between them and providing added value to key stakeholders.
