PROJECT DESCRIPTION
BACKGROUND
Despite progress in legislative and policy areas, the EU continues to face major environmental and climate challenges impact both the ecosystem and the well-being of EU citizens. A significant shift towards sustainable energy practices is necessary to fulfil international commitments and achieve a climate-neutral economy. This includes promoting energy efficiency, adopting renewable energy sources, and boosting heat pump deployment. However, a shortage of skilled professionals and existing market barriers hinder progress. The project aims to revitalise the workforce in the heat pump sector through detailed assessment and strategic action planning. It seeks to develop comprehensive Capacity Building Frameworks to enhance training and skills in application of heat pumps technology as a one of renewable heating/cooling technologies, and an integrated digital tool to enhance adoption of energy-efficient solutions, benefiting both professionals and consumers. The initiative will also bolster the capabilities of at least 385 building sector professionals, and 115 trainers, encouraging the uptake of green technologies and promoting energy efficiency through the installation of heat pumps. Additionally, the project will raise public awareness on sustainable energy transition, while ensuring its long-term impact through stakeholder collaboration, and the dissemination and replication of results. By the end of the project, the skills gap in application of heat pumps as one of sustainable heating and cooling technologies will be significantly reduced, enhancing the competencies and employability of professionals across Europe. Public awareness on sustainable energy will see a significant boost, aiding in the shift towards energy-efficient solutions and overcoming existing market barriers. Collaborations between public, private, and international entities will be fostered, ensuring policy consistency and long-term impact. The project’s resources will be made openly accessible, facilitating ongoing education and capacity building in the sector.
