PROJECT DESCRIPTION
BACKGROUND
The COVID crisis and the war in Ukraine have added complexity on the economic context: rising costs of materials, inflation, rising interest rates, etc. All these factors have had a major impact on the renovation market, adding barriers against the action. To avoid a market stagnation for deep energy retrofit of housing that would cause factories delivering prefabricated facades or roof to slow down their activities, our project aims to organise smartly designed 3 staged Net Zero energy retrofit buy-in-schemes with multiple building owners such as social housing organisations : 1 stage dealing with prefabricated insulated facades installation, 1 stage dealing with prefabricated insulated & solar powered rood systems, 1 stage dealing with energy system switch. Our team is a complementary consortium from Netherlands, Lithuania, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium & Italy that aims to explore the potential for such coherent staged collective buy-in-schemes allowing to organise waves of facades retrofit and waves of roof retrofit, and then to reach Net Zero in 3 tides of retrofit waves, by working on the 3 main directions described below: 1/ Developing renovation tide strategy tools for housing organisations to standardise their tasks and to help them achieve their decarbonization strategies (priority of buildings to deal with, targeted renovations to make, schedule of the work during the next 25 years...) 2/ Setting & deploying LEAN delivery kits for construction companies, to support the whole supply chain to achieve our goals in terms of volume of retrofitted housing 3/ Setting proper contracts and improving business models for such renovation tides, to replicate it massively to achieve our goals of renovation by 2050.
