PROJECT DESCRIPTION
BACKGROUND
The main objective of the current project is to enhance the transition towards a sustainable, competitive, energy-efficient construction sector by designing upgraded training resources and certification schemes in green skills required to carry out a deep renovation of the building, developing and delivering on-site training through innovative training methods. In line with the above objectives, the following activities will be implemented during the lifetime of the project: 1. On-site training: o Creation of training resources and a certification system targeting building professionals, especially workers in areas such as thermal insulation, window installation and heat pumps. o Implementing these trainings through a "Training Route" with a "Skills Bus" that will visit construction sites in 10 Spanish cities. This will allow workers to receive training directly at their workplace, overcoming the barrier of lack of time. 2. Skills certification: o Development of a certification system to certify the skills that workers acquire and/or improve during the project. 3. Training on new energy regulations: o Providing training opportunities for all those involved in sustainable construction about the new Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). The project expects to achieve the following results: 1. Improved skills of workers: o Increased skills and knowledge in key areas such as thermal insulation, window installation and heat pumps. o Facilitating access to training through the "Training Route". 2. Skills certification: o Develop and implement a system that certifies the skills acquired/improved by workers. 3. Knowledge of and compliance with the new energy regulations: o Prepare actors in the construction sector to comply with the new EPBD. 4. Contribution to environmental objectives: o Support the transition towards a more sustainable and efficient economy, in line with the objectives of the LIFE programme and the Green Deal's Renovation Wave initiative, which aim for a climate neutral EU by 2050. The project activities will be implemented taking into account the main goals of the LIFE Pprogramme (aiming at a just and prosperous transition of society through a modern, sustainable and competitive economy, towards the goal of a climate-neutral EU by 2050) and especially the aims of the Clean Energy Transition sub-programme, which supports the implementation of the energy-related actions of the Green Deal, including the Renovation Wave initiative for the construction sector.
