PROJECT DESCRIPTION
BACKGROUND
10 years project to initiate the implementation of the "Moorstrategie Österreich 2030+" (peatland strategy Austria) by synchronizing legal rules and expert knowledge, by implementing good practice restoration projects, building up a network of experts and by prioritizing the necessary steps to implement the entire strategy. Consortium set up by 6 federal states and 2 federal ministries in Austria as partners as well as 3 federal states as associated partners, together responsible for the entire territory of Austria. Intervention area ca. 1400 ha, benefitting area ca. 1165 ha of 13 different habitat types and 37 associated species of high conservation value.
