PROJECT DESCRIPTION
BACKGROUND
Successive periods of confinement linked to the Covid occured in the past 2 years during which households were able to over-experience their housing on a daily basis. Higher occupancy rates caused higher energy consumption, that together with the very recent increases in the price of energy, put a real stress of low-income household’s budget. Until then, although households were aware of the interest of renovating their homes, few of them actually did it. The multiplicity of players, the lack of references and confidence, but also the difficulty of setting up a financing plan were barriers to action. However, all the components are available to move towards comprehensive and efficient quality renovations. Notably, there is in Europe a dense network of public non-profit entities giving initial advice to homeowners regarding home energy renovation But to massify renovation, and engage citizens they need to transition towards integrated renovation service that supports homeowners beyond the initial diagnostic, during the whole renovation journey. This is the ambition of the CONCERTO RENOV project: To be the link between the actors of the whole renovation value chain and to support operators in providing households with a tailor-made offer, from the initial evaluation, the contracting with work companies to the monitoring of energy savings over time. The project therefore has two essential components: (i) the CONCERTO tool, which uniquely leverages numerous national "housing/energy" databases to establish a diagnosis and very detailed work scenarios with a better accuracy and efficiency than current tools, and (ii) the creation of specifically designed platform that will streamline exchanges between a coordinated and animated ecosystem of actors. Two CONCERTO RENOV demonstrators will be set up in the Landes and Jura Department leading to a fivefold increase of deep renovations while proving the economic viability of the CONCERTO RENOV approach in the long term.
