Requesting access to ELAN as part of a Issuing Authority as a first time user or as an existing user

For the user of a virtual authority to get access to relevant licenses in TRACES (AGRIM- AGREX-TCDOC) they are required to have at least one admin user linked to their profile.

This means that the following box in authority details in TRACES should contain the information related to at least one admin user of that Authority.

Note

Possible preliminary actions:

  • If not yet done, the person has to create an EU Login account in the following link. This type of account is used afterwards to access several EU applications. If further help is needed on this step, please send an e-mail to the following address: EU-LOGIN-EXTERNAL-SUPPORT@ec.europa.eu

  • In order to access TRACES modules, please ask for the relevant permissions in the TRACES NT portal via the following link (user to be linked to the profile of the Authority).

Scenario 1: Requesting a role as a first-time user

Upon your first log-in to TRACES you will be asked to select your role and for the purpose of registering as a Member State License Issuing Authority or a Third Country Issuing authority to be able to access ELAN documents, select Authority.

Upon requesting authorization, a pop-up will appear requesting to provide additional information, however this is purely optional, and the fields can be left blank:

You will then be redirected to your profile page, in which your newly requested role will appear:

The first user of a virtual authority will be validated by the TRACES Helpdesk upon creation of the virtual authority and shall be given administrator rights. These rights will allow him/her to validate their colleagues without requiring intervention from EC colleagues.

Once this role has been validated by a user ADMIN in your virtual authority, you will be able to access TRACES and the ELAN menu:
