The status of a notification

The Dashboard (or the application's home page) displays all notifications that may need an action from the user.

Notifications for which the member of the network is flagged (for follow-up or for attention) are made available in its dashboard and an automated mail is sent from iRASFF.

MS draft

When a notification is in Draft, all users with a Creator profile within the same country can see it and edit the information. The only exception is for suspended notifications.

By clicking on the Submit button, you may complete and submit the notification to the MS Validator.

Note

After the notification has been submitted, users with a MS Creator profile cannot change any information anymore but can only read the notification.

MS submitted

When accessing the application as MS Validator, the tasks list includes all notifications submitted by users with MS Creator or RG Validator (with MS submitted status) profile and waiting for actions from your side.

Users with a MS Validator role can edit, validate, suspend, decline or escalate the MS Submitted notification to EC.

Users with a MS Creator role can access a MS submitted notification in the In Progress List. They can however only consult it and/or print it.

MS Rejected

A notification can be rejected by the MS Validator. MS Validator users can then rehabilitate the notification by clicking on Rehabilitate. A dialogue box with the rejection information appears, allowing the user to insert the reason for rehabilitation.

Users with a MS Creator role can only consult the MS rejected notification and, if the notification has been suspended before, to its suspension data.

MS Creators can open the notification by clicking on its notification number. An overview of the notification is displayed, and the rejection reasons are shown at the top of the screen, and are highlighted in red.

MS Validated

When a notification has been validated by the MS Validator, users with a MS Creator or Reader profile can find it by using the search tool or in the In progress list.

MS Validators can instead see it in their Tasks list as it might still need to be escalated.

To send the notification to the European Commission (EC) Validator, the MS Escalator has to click Escalate.

Note

At this stage, the notification can only be modified by a follow-up.

EC Escalated

For MS Creators and MS Validators, EC Escalated notifications are displayed in the In progress list.

An EC Validator may validate or decline the notification or asks the MS for more information to perform a proper assessment via conversation.

When a notification is declined by EC Validator, it is brought back to the MS level. If needed, the MS Validator can then change or add further information to the notification (requested by EC or on its own initiative) and re-escalate it to the EC for validation.

The MS Validator then has to Escalate the original notification to EC again.

EC Validated

When a notification is EC Validated, the EC Validator will notify all countries involved in the notification.

Changes to the original notification by the EC Validator are done through a follow-up to be easily distinguishable.

After validation by the EC, an iRASFF notification reference is automatically assigned. Such reference appears in the General information panel on the top left next to Reference.

Note

This does not have to be confused with the notification number above it, which is given to any notification as soon as it is created by a MS in iRASFF.

When a notification is EC Validated, all users of the different countries can consult the notification.

Note

Users from different countries can react to the same fields in the same notification at the same time.

MS Validators of the notified countries can see the original notification in the MS Validators can create a Follow-up in the notification.
