The EDAMIS 4 Acceptance application might suffer interruptions during the intervention period.  We strongly recommend not doing any modification on the inventory (users rights, datasets, organisations) until the end of the intervention.

The estimated duration of this intervention is 3 hours.

We are very sorry for the inconveniences that this intervention may cause.

The Eurostat metadata team is pleased to announce that a new release of the ESS Metadata Handler is now available in the Production environment and accessible here.

This version includes for example:

  • Header boxes in HTML views of disseminated files aligned between European and National metadata files.
  • Version numbers of metadata files are provided in several places such as Metadata file info, History of the metadata file or optionally in the Homepage on the Metadata files management.
  • Notifications subscription can be managed by users for Delete/Restore actions.
  • Prefilled Comments box on Validate and Publish: Striving for more transparency, ESS-MH prefills comments boxes depending on whether files have been modified prior to Validation / Publication or not. Validators and Publishers are invited to amend and add info as needed. The information provided will be included in notifications to users, in the History of the files as well as Tracking reports.

Dear users,

Please be informed that on October, 8 the Acceptance environment of EDAMIS 4, ESS-MH, EURO-SDMX Registry applications and the Validation systems will not be accesible from 16:00 due to a maintenance performed in the servers hosting the applications.

The estimated duration of this intervention is 3 hours.

We are very sorry for the inconveniences that this intervention may cause.

Dear users,

Please be informed that the major maintenance impacting EDAMIS 4, Euro-SDMX registry and the Validation systems on Saturday, 2nd of October from  08:00 (CEST) to 18:00 (CEST) has been cancelled.

Dear ESS MH users,

As part of a set of measures being implemented across the European Commission to improve digital security, the ESS Metadata Handler (ESS MH) will now require users to complete a two-step process to access the application. The two-factor authentication (2-FA) will provide an additional level of security that will help ensure that only authorised users access metadata files available in the ESS-MH.

The two factor authentication system (2-FA) can be enabled via the user’s EU Login account. You will be able to find in the linked EU Login user guide the different available methods for 2-Factor Authentication. We have also prepared a short explanatory video to guide you in the use of the most common 2-FA authentication methods.

In order to allow you to test 2-FA prior to its introduction in Production, 2-FA will be implemented in the Acceptance  environment of the ESS MH on Monday 2 August 2021. The new authentication method will be introduced in the Production environment in mid-October 2021. We invite you to test access via 2FA in the Acceptance environment and to contact us at estat-metadata@ec.europa.eu in case you experience any issues.

We are happy to announce that the release of the 4.10.0.11 version of EDAMIS 4 application is now implemented in Production.

From now on, EDAMIS 4 takes over the responsibility for managing the part of the Inventory related to Domains, Organisations and Countries. EDAMIS 4 is also taking the responsibility for sending emails related to the creation, update or deletion of Domains and Organisations.

This version allows the closure of these options on EDAMIS 3, therefore the only option related to the Inventory remaining open in EDAMIS 3 is the Dataset Management.

You can also consult the Migration Timeline in our Infospace to keep you updated on the progress of the migration to EDAMIS 4.

Please do not hesitate to contact ESTAT-SUPPORT-EDAMIS@ec.europa.eu  in case you have any question.

We are glad to announce that the new version of the EDAMIS 4 application, currently implemented in Acceptance, will be released in Production Thursday, 22th of July.

The intervention will last approximately 4 hours, starting in the afternoon at 14:00 (CEST).

Be informed that, during this period, the EDAMIS 4 application will not be accessible. Once the intervention finishes, the EDAMIS 4 application will open again.

We would like to highlight the importance of this release that allows the management of the Domains, Organisations and countries in EDAMIS 4 application.

Dear users,

A new version of CONVAL will be put in production on Thursday 15 July, at 17 hours CEST. The installation will last around one hour. During this intervention, the validation and delivery of files transmitted via EDAMIS will be suspended for about one hour.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Dear users,

Due to the installation of a new version in the Acceptance environment of EDAMIS 4, the application will be unavailable today from 16:00 and for an estimated duration of 2 hours.

We apologize for the short notice on this communication.

Dear users,

An incident on the FTP server is causing a delay on the delivery of the transmissions and feedbacks on EDAMIS 4 application .

However no data has been lost.

The technical team is already working on its resolution.

We are very sorry for the inconveniences that this issue may caused.

Eurostat has been working on the standardization and improvement of data validation reports. As the first step of the enhancements, a new HTML based structural validation (STRUVAL) report is introduced, replacing the current TXT report format. Once the change takes place, the previous report format will not be further available.

The introduction of the new validation report format takes place on 6th May, 2021.

The validation report for content validation (CONVAL) remains unchanged, and is available in the usual CSV format.

The introduction of the new the report format does not bring changes to the process of validation or the reporting of validation results. The validation reports may be retrieved from the usual location in EDAMIS, under the Transmissions > Received feedback files menu.

Should you experience issues with the new validation report, or want to share comments or requirements, please contact us via the SDMX support mailbox:

ESTAT-SUPPORT-SDMX@ec.europa.eu

You may find a brief guide to the validation report on the following link: User guide to validation reports 2021
