10:30 - 12:00

  • La fédération des entreprises d’insertion, FR, Mr. Olivier Dupuis, Director. La Fédération des Entreprises d'Insertion represents integration enterprises and temporary work integration enterprises in France. As part of the social and solidarity economy, they have an economic model with a social purpose that combines salaried work, support, and skills acquisition in order to promote access to sustainable employment for people in social and professional difficulty. Recycling, cleaning, temporary work, transport, public works, green spaces, catering...integration companies operate in many sectors of activity.
  • Szimbiozis, HU, László Jakubinyi, President. The Symbiosis Foundation was established in 1999 primarily to improve the deficient residential and occupational service of people with disabilities in the north-eastern region of Hungary. They support more than 400 disabled people and their families by providing a wide range of social services for families who raise a child with disability (special transport, day care, respite care, special camps), assist adult disabled people with their striving for independence (occupation, home centres/supported housing, trainings, therapies, sports and outdoor activities).

  • Viitor Plus, RO, Andreea Savin, Atelier Manager. Atelierul de Panza is a social project, employing people with disabilities. It was created by an environmental NGO, ViitorPlus. Because of their environmental ethics, they would not consider producing masks from plastic or other non-reusable materials. Atelier de Panza was praised by international media for its quick reaction in the COVID19 crisis: "Small-scale artisan creators have re-oriented their workshops to make and distribute potentially life-saving equipment".

As a result of our collection of best practices from Social Economy and civil society in the fight against the Corona virus, we decided to share some of them in thematic on-line sessions.

This will give the chance to analyse and understand the modus operandi and allow learning opportunities for other regions, cities, ecosystems and social enterprises. We have selected for this session the topic of "Work integration social enterprises" (WISEs) in cooperation with ENSIE and EASPD. WISEs have become under serious pressure since COVID19 crisis broke out, but they also showed a great sense of innovation and resilience by maintaining activity in different ways and reshuffling production towards production of urgent equipment. Today they are for example a mayor contributor in the production of masks. Meanwhile, their social and care operations had to keep on running and be prioritised. How these companies combined both shall be showed in this online session.

The meeting format is classic: 15-25 min presentation 10-15 min Q&A and discussion.
