Google Accelerated Mobile Pages (or AMP) is an open source project and service to accelerate content on mobile devices. The service was launched in February 2016. The AMP provides a JavaScript library for developers and restricts the use of third-party JS. [1]

The AMP is a way of fast-tracking content to mobile devices. It improves upon the traditional model of serving mobile content because it relies on a specific form of HTML, called AMP HTML, to strip down the presentation of content.[2]
