Italy:Management and Other Education Staff

The following sections describe procedures for appointment and conditions of serveces of non-teaching staff involved in the education and training system.

As for pre-primary education and all school levels, institutions are managed by school managers (Dirigenti scolastici). The administrative functions are carried out by the Director for general and administrative services (DSGA) and by the administrative-technical-auxiliary staff (ATA).

Quality assurance control is responsibility of managers with technical functions (former inspectors) of the Ministry of education, university and research (Miur).

What said above for schools applies also for adult education provision, that is organised by both upper secondary schools and Permanent local centres (CTPs). The latter are administratively depend from the upper secondary schools.
