Some statistics related to trainings under the competence of the Regions

 

Two organisations oversee public vocational training in the French Community of Belgium: le Forem in Wallonia and Bruxelles Formation in Brussels.

Bruxelles formation

Bruxelles Formation is the official body in charge of vocational training for francophone jobseekers and workers in the Brussels-Capital Region. It is regulated by the French Community Commission (COCOF). The organisation includes eight training centres and one information centre. On its own, or with partners, Bruxelles Formation offers a wide range of activities: literacy classes, training for disabled persons, basic training, guidance, languages targeted at various trades, training in business, pre-training and skills training.

In total, more than 12.778 jobseekers and 3,659 workers were trained in 2012 According to the results of the Ulysse survey conducted for eight years, the employment rate of trainees one year after training was 70.1%.

Le Forem

Le Forem (Service public de l’emploi et de la formation professionnelle en Wallonie), the Walloon Office for Vocational Training and Placement is organised into three general directorate entities: employment (Le Forem Conseil/ Le Forem advies), vocational training (Le Forem formation /training) and the transverse support services. It provides various services through a large network encompassing: regional offices for jobsearch services (11); regional offices (9); for vocational services; 52 vocational training centres (in 12 training fields); skill centres (Centres de compétence); 12 Carrefours Emploi Formation (open access information and documentation centres); 60 Local Job Houses (Maisons de l’emploi), online services and two call centres. The Forem also coordinates and develops competence centres, which specialise in different economic sectors.
