A mobile network operator, abbreviated as MNO and sometimes also known as carrier service provider, mobile phone operator or mobile network carrier, is a telecommunications service provider organisation that provides wireless voice and data communication for its subscribed mobile users.

Mobile network operators are independent communication service providers which own the complete telecom infrastructure for hosting and managing mobile communications between the subscribed mobile users and both users in the same network and in external wireless and wired telecom networks.
