Good Practice Project
Con el apoyo del GALP del sur de Leipzig, se está procediendo a una dinámica rehabilitación de una antigua zona dedicada a la minería del carbón, con el fin de convertirla en una «base» para la práctica de la pesca recreativa y profesional que contribuirá a mejorar la producción pesquera y a desarrollar el turismo local en la región del lago Störmthal.

The International Day of Marine Tourism and Pesca-tourism will take place on the 24th of September in the city of Pontevedra (Spain). On this day, the three FLAGs located in the Rías Baixas (Galicia) will present the results of the third edition of the Mar das Illas project, whose main objective is economic diversification through the promotion of marine tourism among fishers and their families.

El GALP Oeste colaboró con la ONG portuguesa SPEA en el marco del proyecto MedAves Pesca, con el fin de facilitar una mejor comunicación e interacción con el sector pesquero. El objetivo de dicho proyecto conjunto fue adaptar las prácticas pesqueras para evitar la muerte de aves marinas durante las faenas de pesca en la zona de las Ilhas Berlengas.

La pandemia de la COVID-19 ha suscitado un renovado interés por las ventas en línea, lo que ha contribuido a su vez a dar un nuevo impulso a proyectos como Cabaz do Peixe, una plataforma virtual —a través de la cual la flota pesquera artesanal local vende pescado al público general— que suministra productos frescos y de calidad al consumidor, con todas las garantías de seguridad.

The Gargano LAG integrated the promotion of cultural and gastronomy heritage into their local development plan. This includes the development and promotion of the seafood sector. To do so, it supported the development of the Pesca Mia app, which connects the seafood sector, restaurants and private consumers.

COVID-19 paralysed many sectors of the economy in the Basque Country. Although the fisheries sector, like other food-producing sectors, was given priority during the pandemic, the lack of security and low-priced seafood could have forced many vessels and fishing organisations to stop working.
