Tourism

The area includes the South West coast of Aitoloakarnania, the Meganisi island and a large number of lakes (five natural and three artificial) on the mainland. The most common type of fishing is small-scale coastal. Aquaculture is also a very important activity in the area.

The FLAG covers five municipalities surrounding from the north-west the city of Bielsko-Biała. The area is characterised by many small farms, some of them carrying out carp production in cascade ponds.

The area of the FLAG is located in Małopolska: relatively close to big cities such as Bielsko-Biała, Katowice and Kraków. It has a 700 year tradition of carp production in ponds.

The FLAG is situated in the South-Eastern part of Poland, on the border between the Podkarpackie and Lubelskie regions. There is a long tradition of fish farming in the area and it remains important to the local economy.

The area covers seven municipalities north of the city of Warsaw, and is unique in the Mazovia region in that 8% of its surface is covered by water. This is due in part to the meeting of three large rivers: the Vistula, the Narew and the Bug.

The FLAG is in an area of wide valleys and three large rivers: the Warta, the Bzura and the Ner. The fisheries sector consists of small-scale fish producers in ponds, mainly producing carp.

The area is located in the western half of the island of Crete. The main economic activities here are tourism and agriculture.

The Chania FLAG covers the western chunk of the Island of Crete, the largest and most populous of the Greek islands. The fisheries sector is strong here as evidenced by the location of several fisheries ports and processing units in the area.

The area is located in the centre Aegean Sea and covers the islands of Limnos and Aghios Efstratios, as well as few smaller, uninhabited islets. The whole regional unit has a long fishing tradition and along with agriculture and tourism it remains the main source of income here.

The Attica Islands are to be found to the south of Athens in the Saronic Gulf. Here we can find fish farms, fish processing units and small-scale fishing enterprises.
