    The last FARNET meeting for Managing Authorities and National Networks working on the implementation of fisheries CLLD took place online and focused on: programming CLLD under the EMFAF 2021-2027 and linking it with broader EU policy initiatives; setting up the CLLD implementation system; supporting innovation; and facilitating cooperation and capacity building for FLAGs.

    This FARNET meeting for Managing Authorities and National Networks implementing fisheries CLLD focused on programming CLLD for 2021-2027; reviewing CLLD objectives from the 2014-20 period and setting new ones for the future; and CLLD result indicators. The meeting also addressed FLAG work related to the European Green Deal & Farm to Fork strategies.

Key points: 1) How to ensure evaluation recommendations and other past lessons are put into practice in the future; 2) How to move from Programmes based on measures to ones more focused on results.

    Managing Authorities and National Networks met in Estonia on 18-20 September 2017 to identify the potential of CLLD and suggest improvements for the future. Taking place under the title “Reflections on the future of CLLD in fisheries and aquaculture areas”, this meeting is important in terms of creating momentum on the post 2020 discussion.

The main focus of the meeting was on getting FLAGs operational and ensuring they are equipped and supported to foster change in their communities through effective and sustainable local development projects.
