    Poniente Almeriense is situated in the southwest of the Almería province and comprises a 35km coastline. It is boarded to the north by the Sierra de Gádor and the Alborán Sea to the south. West of the FLAG area is the municipality of Albuñol (Granada) and to the east is the Gulf of Almería. From a social perspective, there is a strong unity between the FLAG area’s four municipalities.

    The Almería Coast FLAG is situated in the eastern part of the Almería province with an area spanning approximately 1 500km2. The region has longstanding fishing tradition but in recent years, the industry has been in decline.

    The Costa Brava FLAG area consists of eleven municipalities which are LLançà, El Port de la Selva, Cadaqués, Roses, L’Escala, Torroella de Montgrí, Palamós, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Tossa del Mar, Lloret del Mar, and Blanes. The territory is situated in the northeast of Spain and bordered by the French Vermilion Coast to the north and by the Maresme Coast to the south.
