TRANSPOLVO is a research project which explores the conditions for transporting octopus live to consumers.

The Posavje FLAG area is a geographically independent unit in the south-east of Slovenia which covers six municipalities and four urban centres.

The FLAG is located in the Masurian Lakes region in north-eastern Poland. This area has a very high number of lakes – over 300, with a total surface of over 27 000 hectares, including the largest Polish lake, Śniardwy.

The FLAG is situated on the Baltic Sea coast very close to the well-known Slowinski National Park. The area includes Leba, a fishing harbour with a small to medium-sized fishing fleet. Here we can also find fish processing as well as fish farming.

The Côte d’Emeraude – Rance – Baie du Mont Saint-Michel area surrounds the Rance river estuary. It is characterised by very contrasted landscapes: rocky shores, small rias stretching inland, marshes and polders. The territory relies on tourism, agriculture and maritime activities.

The FLAG area is located in the North East of Schleswig Holstein on the Baltic Sea and is crossed by the River Schlei and its estuary. Both on the coast and on the river, there is strong fisheries tradition here.

The local fishing sector is made up of small-scale inshore operations and shellfish gathering. The only oyster farms in Asturias are also located in this territory. Other relevant economic activities carried out in the FLAG´s territory are agriculture and rural tourism.

The Åland Islands is an autonomous Swedish-speaking region of Finland which forms an archipelago in the Baltic Sea at the mouth of the Gulf of Bothnia between eastern Sweden and south western Finland. There are over 6 500 skerries and islands which make up the Åland Islands.

The Arcachon – Val de l’Eyre basin is a semi-closed bay where many marine activities take place, and in particular tourism, which is the key activity for the local economy. Fisheries and aquaculture are also important sectors in the area.

The Marennes Oléron FLAG covers a rural and coastal territory whose natural and agricultural landscapes represent 85% of the area (40% of which are marshes). Tourism and primary sector activities are important components of the local economy, along with services and commercial activities.
