The Galeb FLAG consists of six municipalities in the north-western part of Šibenik-Knin county which is situated in the central part of Croatia. The area’s landscape is characterised by limestone cliffs, numerous bays, and roughly 200 small islands.

The FLAG area is situated in Zadar County and includes the territories of Pakoštane, Sv. Filip i Jakov, Tkon, Pašman and Biograd na Moru. The FLAG’s territory encompasses 46 islands in the Adriatic Sea, situated close to the mainland.

The Vela Vrata brings together islands of Cres and Lošinj, and their respective towns and municipalities, and the city of Opatija, municipalities of Lovran and Mošćenička Draga on the coast.

Lake Peipsi is the fourth largest lake in Europe and Estonia's largest FLAG. The Peipsi fisheries areas include Lake Peipsi, Lake Pihkva, Lake Lämmijärv, nine lakes in Vooremaa and the coastal areas of Suur-Emajõgi downstream from the city of Tartu.

The FLAG area includes the most developed area of the island of Crete (North West and North East coastal parts of Heraklion) in terms of tourism. Despite the extensive coastline, fishing is limited to demersal and small pelagic fish species which are promoted to the local fish markets.

Due to its extensive history and unique natural environment, this FLAG area which covers the southwest part of Heraklion Prefecture, (Messara Gulf), is rich with cultural and natural assets.

The FLAG area is a sub region on the island of Evia which is geographically located in the epicentre of the Greek Mainland. The main challenges in the area are sustainable development, increasing competitiveness, job creation and improving the quality of life.

The FLAG area is part of Evia Island, Greece’s second largest island in terms of size and population after Crete, and located in the centre of Greece. The island of Corfu lies of the north-west coast of Greece. The local economy is mainly dependant on tourism. The island is known for its natural beauty and pleasant climate. As the only part of Greece not to have been occupied by the Ottoman empire, it has a unique history.

The Itria Valley F/LAG occupies an area between the three main cities of the Apulia Region: Bari, Brindisi and Taranto. It is also called the Trulli’s Valley due to the presence of the traditional Apulian stone buildings. The shore is mostly rocky with small sandy bays, and it is characterised by Mediterranean scrub (“la macchia mediterranea”).
