The Halland FLAG would like to come in touch with FLAG projects to cooperate with, related to adding value to fisheries by diversification of products, new activities and tourism.

Exchange between businesses from three countries helps raise skills of local entrepreneurs, develop new products and encourage young people to engage in business activities.

--ARCHIVED as of 31 January 2020-- Previously operating as two separate FLAGs, Highland and Moray have formed a regional partnership to deliver the 2014-2020 programme. The Highland & Moray FLAG is the largest UK FLAG in operation covering 4,985km of coastline around some of the most sparsely populated and remote land in Europe.

The FLAG territory is flat, located in the South-East of the country and consists of the Bărăgan plain and the Danube meadow. In the FLAG area, there are natural coastline wetlands with great biological diversity.

The FLAG area is located in the Braila Plainm in the South-east of the country, in the basins of the Danube, Calmăţui and Siret rivers. The natural environment, through its hydrographic network, relief, vegetation and fauna, fosters the development of the fisheries sector and tourism.

--ARCHIVED as of 31 January 2020-- The FLAG area covers the fisheries communities and coastline of the three combined local authority areas of Scottish Borders, East Lothian and Fife. The area includes 12 working harbours, several of which are discrete fishery harbours built in the 19th century.

Ģirts Purviņš is the owner of GP Trading Ltd. and an experienced freshwater and saltwater fisherman. With the support of his local FLAG he has diversified his activities and the area’s tourism offer.

Lake Peipsi is the fourth largest lake in Europe and Estonia's largest FLAG. The Peipsi fisheries areas include Lake Peipsi, Lake Pihkva, Lake Lämmijärv, nine lakes in Vooremaa and the coastal areas of Suur-Emajõgi downstream from the city of Tartu.

The FLAG area has a strong level of community cohesion. Despite this, they still face issues related to an ageing population. The primary sector is characterised by small-scale fisheries and small-scale agriculture. Tourism is very important for the economy of the region.
