FLAG Neamt is in North-eastern Romania. The region is predominantly rural with an economy mainly based on agriculture (including fishing and aquaculture), forestry and tourism. The region’s primary sectors include the chemical and processing industries.

--ARCHIVED as of 31 January 2020-- The FLAG area is situated around the Cardigan Bay which leads out into the Irish Sea. It provides rich fishing grounds for the small commercial fishing fleets which operate from some of the small villages and towns within the area.

The FLAG territory covers the islands of Terceira and Graciosa which are situated in the Central Group of the Azores archipelago and cover a total surface area of 403.6km2. The FLAG covers 126km of coastline on Terceira Island and 44km on Graciosa. Not dissimilar to most of the Azores, fisheries in the FLAG area and small-scale in nature.

The FLAG area covers the two most western islands of the Azores archipelago, Santa Maria and São Miguel. The area’s fisheries sector is characterised by traditional small-scale fisheries (mainly small siege, pole and long-line vessels). Common catches include small (mackerel and sardines) and large pelagic (tuna and swordfish) species, deep-water demersal, crustaceans and molluscs.

The FLAG territory is in the south-east planning region of Bulgaria. The region has a strong fisheries tradition, though fisheries jobs only account for approximately 1% of the area’s total employment. However, many local fishers also engage in other occupations and activities such as tourism and services.

The FLAG territory includes 45km of the Black Sea coast in Varna Province, equating to approximately 13% of the Bulgarian Black Sea coastline. The leading industries in the area are tourism and agriculture. Fisheries in the region are small-scale and important in the local population – roughly 5% of the economically active population are engaged in fisheries.

The FLAG territory has two geographically distinct areas, the coastal region to the east and the Dobrudzha plateau to the west. Fishing in the coastal areas, on the Black Sea, is traditional activity and important to the livelihood of many local communities. Fisheries are predominantly small-scale, accounting for approximately 90% of the sectors total employment.

The FLAG is covered by three mainland municipalities (Follonica, Piombino and Scarlino) and one island (Isola di Capraia), and is situated in the northern Tyrrhenian coast of Italy. While traditional fisheries are still carried on by small fleets in the region, aquaculture has increased significantly over the last decade in terms of workers involved and impact on the economy.

FLAG Juzni Jadran (South Adriatic) is situated in the southern part of the Croatian coast in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County. The main source of income in the area is tourism.

The Škoji FLAG covers the three islands of Hvar, Vis and Šolta which are situated in the Middle Dalmatian group of islands. There are seven local authorities, four of which are towns (Hvar, Komiža, Stari Grad and Vis) and three municipalities (Jelsa, Sućuraj and Šolta).
