Short circuits

The valley of the Barycz river is situated in south-western Poland at the border of Lower Silesia and Wielkopolska. It has an 800 year-long tradition in carp production in ponds.

The area of the FLAG is located in Małopolska: relatively close to big cities such as Bielsko-Biała, Katowice and Kraków. It has a 700 year tradition of carp production in ponds.

The FLAG is in an area of wide valleys and three large rivers: the Warta, the Bzura and the Ner. The fisheries sector consists of small-scale fish producers in ponds, mainly producing carp.

The area has a strong historical, geographic and cultural identity, both rural and maritime. The Auray and Vannes area has been shaped by maritime activities for decades.

The FLAG area is situated on the Atlantic coast and has a strong maritime history and attractive environment. With cities such as La Rochelle and the island of Ré, the area is a stronghold for marine tourism, blue growth and maritime economy.

The territory covers the whole coastline of Corsica, which ranges from white sand beaches in the East to rocky coastline in the West. The local fisheries sector is made up exclusively of small-scale operators, with modest and declining production mostly organised around short-circuit sales, mainly to restaurants.

Pescado artesanal is an online platform and a communication campaign to increase the consumption of artisanal seafood. The online platform pools products of four auctions, making local seafood more accessible to buyers.

The FLAG is located on the Baltic sea coast north of the city of Gdańsk. The area has valuable natural assets, many of them protected. The main economic activities are tourism, fishing and fish processing.
