The Málaga FLAG has promoted an initiative to brand a specific local clam (‘Callista chione’ or ‘concha fina’), adding value to this local species and guaranteeing a high-quality standard.

The Tramuntana FLAG covers five local self-government units: Senj, Karlobag, Lopar, Rab and Novalja. The units are situated in the counties of Primorje-Gorski Kotar and Lika-Senj. Karlobag and Senj are coastal areas and the regions of Lopar, Novalja and Rab are located inland.

The F/LAG’s area covers about 20 Km of Apulian coastline along the Adriatic Sea to the north of Bari, including three municipalities Trani, Bisceglie and Molfetta (the last two were part of the Terre di Mare FLAG) . The coast is mainly rocky and calcareous, with some long sandy and pebble shores.

The territory is located in the central southern Ionian area of Calabria and includes 45 municipalities, classified as "rural areas with overall development problems", with the exception of Catanzaro. It is characterised by a long coast line, the Aspromonte mountain range and is renowned for its very attractive historical, artistic, monumental and environmental heritage.

The area of South Western Sardinia is characterised by a jagged coastline and long sandy shores; the area has many natural protected areas, such as the Carloforte and Sant’Antioco Isles. Inland the area has a strong cultural identity and heritage characterised by a longstanding mining industry

The FLAG area is situated in the western part of Sicily and the region’s economy is largely dependent on the sea. Fishing and canning are the two main local industries and fishers typically catch tuna using the ‘mattanza’ technique.

The FLAG area which consists of the Ischia, Procida and Vivara isles covers an area of approximately 75km2. The surrounding seabeds are characterised by vast posidonia meadows, a seaweed endemic to the Mediterranean Sea, which is home to many species of fishes. As a result, fishing has always been a very important activity in the area.

The FLAG area stretches along the coastal strip overlooking the Gulf of Naples, and features strong views of the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida throughout. Close to Naples, there is a significant amount of interaction between urban and coastal areas.

The area is characterised by small-scale fisheries with about 50 small boats and 6 landing areas (only two vessels over 12m, no big ports). Challenges here are linked to fishermen’s low competitiveness and poor linkages with the tourism sector.

The establishment of the Coast to Coast FLAG is the first implementation of fisheries CLLD in the Basilicata region. The FLAG area includes 19 municipalities within the provinces of Matera and Potenza and covers approximately 61 km of the regional coastlines of the Tyrrhenian and the Ionian Seas, mostly included in protected areas or areas of community interest.
