    After a study visit to Fyn FLAG in Denmark, a fishers’ association chair was inspired to adapt one of the Danish projects to his area’s needs. The project aims to boost tourism and improve local knowledge of fisheries heritage.

    Os pequenos pescadores e piscicultores costeiros participaram ativamente na conceção de um plano de gestão costeira para o litoral da região Emília-Romanha. Este plano de gestão das unidades populacionais centrou-se em três espécies locais de elevado valor que foram identificadas a nível regional pelo setor.

    The municipality of Nessebar organised the first edition of “Autumn Passages” in 2020. During this festival, the local community and tourists enjoyed of a wide range of activities to promote Black Sea fisheries products, fishing as a profession and preserving maritime heritage.

    Com o apoio do GAL PESCA, os pescadores locais estão a ajudar a aplicar medidas de proteção e a parar a pesca furtiva na reserva marinha de pesca mais antiga da região, Cabo de Palos. O aumento da proteção tem favorecido um aumento das espécies endémicas.

    O GAL Pesca da Finlândia Oriental apoiou a criação de uma aplicação móvel para os pescadores finlandeses do interior poderem registrar as suas capturas. Desenvolvida por uma Universidade de Ciências Aplicadas e introduzida em maio de 2020, a ferramenta permite melhorar a recolha de dados sobre as capturas e a rastreabilidade ao longo da cadeia de valor das pescas.

    Despite experiencing environmental strain, the Limfjord has an abundance of sea trout. This species is very attractive to anglers. A FLAG-LAG cooperation project addresses local economic and environmental goals by creating a new tourist location based on recreational fishing.

    The development of small-scale fisheries and aquaculture businesses in the Western Lithuania FLAG area is a vital part of the economic development of regions such as Klaipeda and Priekulė. This project, implemented by a small local company, aims to improve the processing of local fisheries and aquaculture products through a series of FLAG-funded strategic investments.

    A large-scale cooperation project between Baltic FLAGs has increased knowledge on the impact the growing seal and cormorant populations are having on small-scale coastal fisheries in the region. Through this cooperation project, FLAGs have developed solutions for achieving the balanced management of marine resources.
