Code:
PL226

2014-2020

Area

The area covers seven municipalities north of the city of Warsaw, and is unique in the Mazovia region in that 8% of its surface is covered by water. This is due in part to the meeting of three large rivers: the Vistula, the Narew and the Bug. The population is increasing due to migration from the capital. Services and small-scale production dominate the economy.

The Zegrze Lake is an important asset for the area, offering opportunities for angling and recreation. However, it faces the challenge of eutrophication and it is important to raise awareness of this and other environmental issues. The tourist potential of the lake is not yet sufficiently exploited.
