FLAG Factsheet
The FLAG area is situated in Western Pomerania in the county of Kołobrzeg. The Parsęta river flows through the area and at its estuary there is a harbour with many functions including trade, fishing, passenger traffic etc.
The area also has sources of mineral water for spa purposes, and Natura 2000 areas. Tourism, fishing, fish processing and recreational marine angling are very important for the area’s economy. There are 17 larger and 51 smaller fishing boats. There are three producer organisations managing three local points of first sales of fish. Challenges include the need to add value to locally caught fish and diversification into non-fishing activities, as well as preventing the pollution of water and beaches.
Protected areas include: the Pomeranian Bay, Koszalin Coastal Park, Trzebiatów-Kołobrzeg coastal strip, including several Natura 2000 areas.

The FLAG area overlaps with several LAG areas but there is no cooperation.
Five municipalities, several fishing businesses, fishermen’s producer organisations, a trout farm, the harbour authority of Kołobrzeg, tourism businesses, hotels, fish bars and the local tourism association.
